It was an absolutely beautiful Family Fishing Day Derby at the "Shack". With over 30 "competitors" gathered for a day of fishing, food and "refreshments" you couldn't help but have a great time.
What would a day on the ice be without food and drink.... that would be "iced tea" of course. Even the dogs got some treats!
Ya think ya gotta go to MacDonald's to "feel the love? Think again! Served piping hot right out on the river - the best fries ever!
Our host and master chef provided the final gourmet treats - tube steaks!
Did I mention that there wasn't any fish fryin' in a griddle anywhere?
Hmmm..... I wonder why?

This first time ice fisherman took time out to snuggle with Grandma in between checking his line every 10 minutes for those elusive fish!
The winning fish - a beautiful 2 and half pound pike! This poor fish must have been starving hungry 'cause it was the only one dumb enough to take the bait during our entire day. But that was OK because it was still a GREAT day!  |
